In the early 1980's, I had the fanciful idea to sign my works with my thumbprint for authenticity? I don't remember anymore, but I do recall that at some point I became weary of scrubbing stamp pad ink from the grooves of my thumb and decided to have a rubber stamp made with my thumb's impression.
